RIDING LESSONS IN THE ARENA
Lessons with the Kangaroo Valley Horses qualified riding instructors are a great way to gain confidence in the saddle and to advance riding skills from the very first time on horse back, right through to advanced riding skills.
Qualifications: Riding Instructors are experienced riders and experienced instructors accredited with Horse Safety Australia. Instructors are approved by the Working with Children Check office of the children’s guardian NSW government and hold
current senior Apply First Aid accreditation with St John Ambulance Australia.
Individual and small group riding lessons are available for bookings in the full size 60x20m dressage arena.
Lessons accommodate beginner riders from 7 years old to adult riders wishing to gain confidence in the saddle, to improve technique and to learn new and improved riding skills.
Beginner Riding Lessons include the principles of sound and safe horsemanship, the mount and dismount, riding at a walk and trot emphasizing the riders’ position and control. Riders will be introduced to obstacle courses and patterns.
Intermediate Riding Lessons are designed to teach how to post or rise to the trot, to identify and to ride on the correct diagonal. Riders learn the two point riding position over obstacles and begin to include more advanced patterns and faster gaits at the lope and canter.
Advanced Lessons focus on the riders’ position and independent control. Lessons include transitions, circles, lateral work, and patterns.
With years of experience our instructors agree that a schedule of riding lessons in the enclosed arena, combined with Riding lessons out on the open trail crossing creeks and riding through diverse landscapes rapidly accelerates the riders’ ability and confidence.
